Book Review: The MayWay – THE PATH TO BUILD A THRIVING HEALTH AND FITNESS BUSINESS. by Timothy May

Leading a fit and healthy lifestyle means that you need to exercise daily, eat healthy and meditate for clarity but what most of us forget is that we also need to look after our brain power. Studies show that reading every day can help make you smarter and increase your brain function, just like going for exercises your heart to function properly, reading regularly can help improve memory, active thinking and an overall good workout for your brain.

With that, we’re launching a monthly book review to help you make it a habit to read every day. We’re hoping you’ll share your thoughts about each book we review with us as well. For this month, we’re reading The MayWay: THE PATH TO BUILD A THRIVING HEALTH AND FITNESS BUSINESS. It was self-published in June 2019 which you can only find on Amazon.

The book starts off with a modest introduction about the humble beginnings of the author, Timothy May then it proceeds to ask you questions for your business or the business you plan to set up.

You have to show up every week (sometimes every day) and put out a consistent message. You have to put your branding and imagery out there so that it becomes instantly recognizable to your market. But most importantly, showing up consistently is about building a relationship with your audience.

Educate Them About The Advantages Of Your Product

It’s easier to turn your regular customers into advocates if they know what they’re advocating for. They can actively promote your product to people they know if they are aware of what your product has to offer.

Post a whole album of images about each of the benefits that your product has to offer, that way your customers can share the whole album or the individual images.

Optimise tags to your advantage

Can #hashtags still help boost your business?

The answer is: Yes. If you’re an avid Instagram or Twitter user, the purpose for hashtags on both platform work similarly. However, Facebook has designed their hashtags to work differently than other social media sites. It has a unique function which allows you to track the popularity of your hashtag and how people use it. Optimizing hashtags should be part of your Facebook marketing strategy and brand strategy so your audience can easily identify you.

Maintain the interest of your customers through Facebook

Worried about maintaining the interest of your customers?

Maintain the interest of your customers through Facebook

Nowadays, with all the distraction of different brands and the unhealthy trend of carelessly launching new and different products, it’s hard to maintain the interest of your customer. Here’s a couple of ways you can do to maintain the interest:

  1. Know your target market by heart. It’s important to not just identify who you’re selling to, it’s more important to actually know what their wants and needs are, that way you’ll know how your target market will evolve. By knowing how your market will evolve, you’ll stay ahead of the game and give solutions to questions they haven’t even thought of asking.
  2. Optimize tags to your advantage
  3. User-Generated Content – Customers love seeing people they identify using a product/doing something that they do as well. Once you’ve optimized a hashtag for your Facebook page, encourage your customers to use the hashtags in their post so you can share their posts and pictures.

What Is Branding?

So what is branding? And why is it so important for your business?.
.
Branding goes way beyond just a logo or graphic element.
.
When you think about your brand, you really want to think about your entire customer experience…everything from your logo, your website, your social media experiences, the way you answer the phone, to the way your customers experience your staff.
.
What does your brand say about you? .

Creative Instagram Story Ideas

Creative Instagram Stories

1. Answer questions
Are you frequently on the receiving end of a lot of questions from customers and followers? Perhaps people are always asking about the best way to use your product or how you achieve something specific.

Instagram Stories is a great place to answer those questions—whether you want to talk on video or just create text images for people to read.

You can step up engagement even more by asking your followers to leave their questions as a comment on one of your photos so that you can answer those in an Instagram story. It’s a great way to get your followers involved and to strike up a conversation.

One more tip: If there are questions you’re being asked over and over again (and, in all honesty, are getting sick of answering), create an FAQ Story highlight where you can save all of the answers to those commonly-asked questions. You can easily direct people to that highlight when they have a question you’ve already answered.

2. Do an employee takeover
You might be fresh out of clever ideas for Instagram stories. But, your employees? They probably have all sorts of exciting stuff to share.

So, why not start an employee takeover? It’s exactly what it sounds like—you let an employee take control of your Instagram stories for a day. They can give a peek into their average workday, give a tour of your office or their own work spaces, and generally offer followers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what your business or their lives are really like.

3. Do a customer takeover
Similar to an employee takeover, you can also have a happy customer take control of your Instagram stories for a day.

Not only will you engage with the customer who’s actually taking over for you, but you’ll also catch the attention of your other followers as well—they’re bound to trust a customer more than they trust you.

4. Share behind the scenes
Have a sweet office, desk, gym, studio you’re proud of? Give your followers a little behind-the-scenes peek at where or how you get your work done.

When social media can feel impersonal at times, giving this insider look fosters a more personal connection with all of your followers.

5. Teach your followers something
You can use Instagram Stories to teach your followers just about anything.
